With over 30 years experience, Denise Irby is a Seasoned Master Cabinetmaker. She considers quality, craftsmanship and integrity an essential part of her moral fiber.
Her journey began as a young girl watching and admiring her grandfather, Claude Irby, whose hobby was woodworking. He could build or fix just about anything. In the seventh grade Denise began taking woodworking classes at which she excelled. Her senior project was to build a grandfather clock with custom turnings and inlays. The piece is still with her today and is a constant reminder of her passion for her craft.
At the age of 18, Denise joined the military and subsequently worked in the carpenter shop alongside several master carpenters. After her time in the service, she worked as an exhibit builder for six years at the Museum of The Albemarle which serves as the Northeastern Regional Branch of the North Carolina Museum of History. During that time she created various exhibits, some of which were featured in Southern Living Magazine and various other publications throughout her career. The many years of experience fueled Denise's passion to build her own business whereby she could design and create custom cabinetry and furnishings. Owning her own business was something she had always dreamed of. Denise has always loved the art of making something with her own hands and feels very blessed to have been given this talent.
Her mantra is, "If you can dream it, I can build it." She is extremely detail oriented and customer service focused.
Denise's studio is in Swansboro, North Carolina. When she is not designing and creating her customers next dream, she enjoys gardening and exercising.
